This is pretty cool. The game made me laugh and has its own unique style. Certainly one I'd like to come back to. Maybe if you have a bit more time to smooth out some of the rough edges this would make a good longer project. I'm thinking the character movement maybe needs tightening up- and there should really be a 'whoosh' sound effect for dashing through the air! Also, a pause button would be nice, my character keeps getting killed by homing icicles while I write this...

This is awesome- definite Wipeout vibes here. Shame it won't be turned into a full project, but I had a lot of nostalgic fun playing!

Update: 42.10 seconds- world champion! Coincidentally, I may have broken the game...

It's pretty cool- I love the sound effects here! Agree with everyone else about the checkpoints though.

This was so varied and weird! Not sure I'd want to play it again, but it feels like one of those games that a lot of indie/ retro Twitch streamers would enjoy. Had fun playing this :)

I like the graphics, and that this has a story behind it. The actual platforming felt a bit too frustrating to be fun, though. Gave up after falling all the way down for about the fifth time and deciding I couldn't face waiting for the old bloke to finish his rooftop walk again (I was also getting stuck on the sides of platforms a lot). A longer or more varied song would also be good.

Nice attention to detail though- the little animations (like the character's hair) and the speech bubble are good touches.

Thanks for the extremely constructive criticism and for playing the game! It means a lot to me!

People, already have complained to me that its too heavy, so I have to fix it, as well as problem with get stuck on the platform..

As far as music is concerned, i want it to be completely mine/original, and unfortunately I'm not musically creative enough. I will definitely try to expand this a little too!!

It feels like you're on the road to a very good game but still have some way to go. The most impressive thing about this is the presentation which gives a very moody and calming atmosphere in a very simple and understated way.

The worst aspect, for me, was the level design which required repetitive jumping onto nearly identical featureless rocks. As well as the breakneck plummeting- which you mentioned- not knowing where the platforms below you were was also an issue (in pro games like Mario, these tend to be placed in a fair way, or give you a hint so you're not falling blind).

The cut scenes were very well done though and the story was quite sweet in the end- I was wondering if it was going to turn into a Silent Hill style emotional pain game at one point! As Rainy G mentioned, doing more to marry the story to the gameplay would be really cool.

EkaGriffin responds:

Thank you! Yes, the level design I struggled a lot with. I’m trying to fit some more environment and creatures/enemies in our current project but AI, even the bots who just follow you around, are not the easiest thing to address -Anastasia

Thanks for letting me know this is out! I still enjoy the mix of cute robots going about their day-to-day lives and wickedly hard puzzles. Too hard for me at the moment- I'll give it another go when I'm feeling less tired.

Also, I'm not saying that the lack of sound is an issue but I actually searched on the internet for music that would work with this! Soundimage.org>Techno>Friendly Machines sounds great in the background. It's royalty free but you'd need to credit the composer, Eric Matyas. Also, Freesound.org is great for SFX (but check the individual copyright details).

The amount of work you've put into this is incredible- but don't feel you have to do everything yourself :)

I love how this is actually one of your most normal games! Definitely my go-to version of Tetris now :)

It's a really nice world to be in- the the sound and graphics give a great atmosphere.
Jump-heavy games in first person are pretty much always very frustrating and unfair though (including in AAA games). If you can't see your character's feet, jumping becomes too much about guesswork.

CreatorsWorlds responds:

The games I play are usually first person, so I got used to not seeing the feet in the jump and run. But it's good to know that some others have problems when the radius of the player is so small, so in the next game I might make it a bit bigger. Good to know you still had some fun either way, thanks for the comment.

KFG are Manchester's premier developers of quirky and intriguing story games. Possibly. I can't think of any others. We are Dom (creative) and Mike (technical). Thanks for stopping by and please follow if you like our stuff.
